About Ashton Walden Turf Services

October on the Llano Estacado is the kindest month — the wind eases, the light turns thin and clear, and lawns begin banking energy for a long brown sleep. Ashton Walden Turf Services works that stretch on the west side of Lubbock and out toward Wolfforth, taking the last cuts of the year, clearing borders, and setting turf up to come back thick when warmth returns. Grass in this country lives half its life underground, so autumn work is quiet and mostly invisible until spring says otherwise. Even dormant, a well-kept lawn has a shape to it: flat, unbroken, its edges still true against the concrete. Winter is brief on the plains — the turf is only resting.
