The Lawn Medic

About The Lawn Medic

East of Edinburg the land goes flat and generous, and La Blanca sits in the middle of it, section roads running arrow-straight between cane rows and citrus. The Lawn Medic starts early out here, while the caliche dust is still lying down and the doves are working the fencelines. Mowing, edging, string trimming, and a blown-clean walk — the ordinary passes that make a yard look cared for from the road. Valley heat takes the day by mid-morning, so the sharp line along a drive gets cut while the air is still kind, and it holds until dark. After a summer squall greens everything overnight, the whole route begins again, which is its own small pleasure.
