Sky Lawn and Garden

About Sky Lawn and Garden

What Kirby has in abundance is sky — that enormous South Texas ceiling, thunderheads stacking up white in the afternoon, trainers out of Randolph droning somewhere off over Universal City. Sky Lawn and Garden works underneath it, holding the grass at a height that survives the heat, tending beds and borders, cutting shrubs back into shape, pulling the weeds every good rain sends up. The garden side is the pleasure of the job: something in bloom in the front bed from March all the way to the first cold night of the year. Mowing, edging and clean walks take care of the rest. A yard here can be green and blooming for most of the calendar, and it is worth the tending.
