Meadows Tree Service

About Meadows Tree Service

Winter on the Katy Prairie is louder than people expect: sandhill cranes drop onto the old rice ground northwest of town and call across the fields until the light is gone. That is the season Meadows Tree Service likes for the heavier work — deadwood out of a live oak, a limb lifted clear of a roofline, a hedge cut back hard while the sap is down. The rest of the year the crew keeps yards on a steady turn: cutting, edging and hauling off whatever a Gulf storm brings down overnight. Katy's soil is heavy black clay and its wind arrives off open country, so trees here grow broad and want honest attention rather than a quick shave. Standing back at dusk after a good pruning day, when the crown reads as one clean shape against that enormous sky, is most of the pay.
