Earth First Landscapes

About Earth First Landscapes

Before the subdivisions arrived this was coastal prairie — gumbo clay, little bluestem, and a horizon with nothing standing in the way of it. Earth First Landscapes still works that soil and stays honest about what clay wants: aeration to let air and water down, mulch to hold moisture through August, feeding matched to the season instead of the calendar. Regular care covers mowing, edging, trimming, bed work and cleanups, with plantings chosen to take the humidity and the occasional hard freeze. On a still morning west of town you can hear birds working the open fields between the neighborhoods. A lawn grown out of healthy ground stops needing rescue.
