Boyd's Lawn and Landscaping

About Boyd's Lawn and Landscaping

Idalou sits high on the caprock where the land runs flat to the edge of the sky and the wind has an opinion about everything. Boyd's Lawn and Landscaping mows, edges and trims yards along the cotton-row grid east of Lubbock, holding bermuda tight and green against all that red plains dust. Summer arrives dry and enormous here, so the work takes the cool end of the morning, and then there's a moment of standing back to look at a lawn cut as straight as a turnrow. Autumn brings the pumpkin fields and the grape harvest out along the farm roads, and the mowing eases into a rhythm of trims and cleanups. It is plain work done carefully, in a town where a well-kept yard shows up from a long way off.
