2 Nick's Lawn Mowing

About 2 Nick's Lawn Mowing

Saturday morning arrives gently over the old cotton co-op in Hutto, brick and corrugated tin warming in the light while the town stretches awake. That is when the mowers roll out, down side streets where St. Augustine runs thick under the shade and thins where the sun wins. 2 Nick's Lawn Mowing works a yard the way you'd read a page, left to right, one stripe following the last. Edges get their own pass, so the walk finds its border again and the drive reads sharp against the grass. Trimming and a blow-down finish it, and the property is handed back looking cared for rather than merely cut. It is ordinary work done attentively, and a street full of it is what makes a neighborhood feel settled.
