About Magnolia Landscape and Design

Late light is the honest hour in Hudson Oaks, when the sun drops behind the oak line west of town and everything planted shows its true shape. Design starts there, with beds laid out to hold that shadow, shrubs and small trees placed for what they will be in five summers, and stone and edging setting the border between planted and mown. Then comes the keeping of it: trimming, mulching, and the lawn cut and edged so the design has a clean floor beneath it. Parker County soil runs red and sandy and forgiving if you read it correctly, and the plants that thrive here are the ones that expect a dry August. A landscape ought to look inevitable, as though the house was built around it.
