About Pena Landscape Design LLC

In March the azaleas along the old Montrose streets go off all at once, and for two weeks a bungalow courtyard can look like it was drawn by somebody with a plan. Pena Landscape Design LLC draws those plans the rest of the year: a bed line that follows the porch instead of arguing with it, plantings sized for the small deep lots, a border that still makes sense in the flat gray light of January. Design here means installation too — beds cut and shaped, plants set, mulch laid, then the ongoing trimming and mowing and edging that keep the idea intact once it is in the ground. Nothing in a Houston garden holds its shape on its own; humidity and heat will blur an outline in a single season. Coming back to sharpen it, week after week, is the part that turns a drawing into a place you sit in with coffee.
