March along Little White Oak Bayou brings the strange season when the live oaks let go of last year's leaves all at once, and half the Northside wakes to a brown drift across the driveway. E.T.D. Landscaping starts early on those streets, mowing while the air still holds some of the night's cool, then running the edger down the walk until the concrete reads clean against the green. Beds get raked out, shrubs shaped back, and the cuttings cleared off the pavement instead of left in the gutter to wash toward the bayou. By the time the sun clears the Hardy overpasses, a yard looks like somebody made a decision about it. That decisiveness — a straight edge, a level cut, a swept walk — is the whole point of the work.
