Grass Works

About Grass Works

July in this part of the Hill Country runs hot until the sun drops behind the ridges, and then the cicadas ease off and the limestone gives its heat back to the evening. Grass Works keeps Horseshoe Bay lawns cut through all of it — weekly mowing, string trimming, firm edges at the sidewalks, clippings cleared. Summer grass in this country grows in bursts between dry spells and asks to be read, not simply cut. Set the height right and a yard holds its color deep into August. Coming back down the street at dusk to a lawn standing in even stripes is the reason to do it well.
