Mathis & Sons Lawn Service

About Mathis & Sons Lawn Service

By November the sweetgums and oaks around Hooks have turned loose, the pines keep their green, and the first frost comes in low over the Red River bottoms to make the mornings sharp. Mathis & Sons Lawn Service works the tail end of the year hard — raking and clearing leaves off lawns and beds, gathering the fallen limbs, taking the last cuts before the ground finally rests. When the warmth returns the routine starts again: mowing on a steady rotation, trimming close, edging the walks, blowing the clippings back where they belong. In this piney corner of Bowie County the growing season is long and the work is mostly about being reliable through it. A yard raked open and mowed level on a cold clear morning looks like a place that is looked after, and that is the whole aim.
