Paladin Tree Service

About Paladin Tree Service

Past town the wheat country rolls out to the horizon, and the only windbreaks around Holliday are the ones somebody planted and then kept. Paladin Tree Service tends them — pruning and trimming to hold a good frame against the constant push of air, taking out the mesquite and elm that have died back to bare gray. Winter is the reckoning: ice comes down out of Oklahoma and coats every twig, limbs let go all night, and the days after go to cutting and hauling until the lanes are open again. In summer the crew finishes in long gold light with the grain elevators standing off in the distance, and a completed job looks like nothing but level ground and a healthy tree. Holliday, Iowa Park, Wichita Falls, Scotland and Megargel.
