Barrera's Nursery and Landscaping

About Barrera's Nursery and Landscaping

The ground under Hewitt is Blackland Prairie clay — the heavy dark soil that drinks a February rain, holds it, then opens in seams by the end of a dry summer. Barrera's Nursery and Landscaping works with that ground rather than against it, waiting out the cold weeks and timing the season's first cuts to the exact stretch when the turf finally decides to green. The work is lawn care in its plain sense: mowing on a steady rhythm, edging, trimming the corners a deck can't reach, and clearing the clippings so the walks come back to their own color. There is a particular pleasure in watching a winter-tired yard turn over in spring, the green deepening pass by pass until the whole lot looks intentional again. Homes and small businesses around Hewitt, Woodway and Lorena keep them on the calendar.
