The Baked Barbie

About The Baked Barbie

In October the sweetgums along the Wood County backroads turn every color at once, and pine straw starts drifting into the corners of every yard in Hawkins. The Baked Barbie takes lawn care here — mowing, trimming, edging, and clearing leaves and fallen limbs — the plain, useful work of putting a yard back in order. Fall is rake, blow, load, haul, then stand back and watch the lawn breathe again. Toward Lake Holbrook the oaks let go late and the work runs deep into November. Come the first frost, the yards are ready for it.
