Lawn Star

About Lawn Star

Out past the last streetlights on the north side of Haslet the sky still gets dark enough for stars, and the trucks are usually loading while a few of them are still up. Lawn Star begins early because Texas summers demand it, and because a mower running at first light is a small kindness to everyone's afternoon. Mowing, edging, trimming, cleanup — the list is short and the standard is not. Yards get finished before the heat sets its teeth in, walks cleared, gates pulled closed on the way out. From Old Town to the newer sections off Willow Springs, it is the same route at the same hour every week.
