Ramos Lawn Services

About Ramos Lawn Services

In February, while most of the country is still waiting on its first green, Harlingen yards are already asking for a cut. Ramos Lawn Services is out in that odd early season, mowing under the dark canopy of a Texas ebony, edging a walk that has not been walked barefoot since October. The work runs long here — cool mornings in winter, hard bright afternoons by May, and the wet growth spurt after the late-summer rains. Mowing, edging, trimming and blow-down hold the shape of a yard through all of it, and cleanups take care of what the wind stacks against the fence. Nearly year-round grass makes for nearly year-round work, and there is something good about a town where the mower never really goes away.
