About J & R Services

Late August in Grand Saline is heat that stands perfectly still until the sun drops behind the tree line, and then the cicadas take the bottomland along the Sabine and hold it until dark. J & R Services works the cooler ends of those days, cutting Bermuda at a height that lets it keep its color through the worst of the summer. The trimmer runs the fence rows and the mailbox posts, the places a mower can never quite reach, because that is where a yard either looks cared for or does not. By the time the light goes amber over the pastures east of town, the stripes are laid and the drive is swept. Come fall the pace eases, and the same yards get walked again with a rake.
