Payne Lawn Care & Welding

About Payne Lawn Care & Welding

Granbury wakes slowly around its limestone courthouse, the brick pavers of the square still cool, the streets empty but for a truck or two. That is the hour Payne Lawn Care & Welding prefers — mowers off the trailer while the light is still gray, edges run clean along the walks before the town fills in behind them. The work is plain and it is done all the way through: mowing, edging, string trimming into the corners, and the clippings blown back off the concrete where they belong. By the time the shop doors unlock, the grass stands even and the curb line reads as sharp as a chalk mark. Hood County notices a yard that has been looked after, and that is the whole point of the morning.
