Susie’s Garden Services

About Susie’s Garden Services

November finally lets you walk the Silk Stocking blocks in the middle of the day — tall porches, deep verandas, a breeze that has stopped being an oven. Susie's Garden Services moves at that walking pace through Galveston yards, doing the close work by hand where a machine would be clumsy. Mowing, then edging along the old walks, then trimming out the corners at the steps and the gateposts until the yard has no ragged spots left in it. The last of the leaves gets raked up and carried off, and the walkway gets swept down to the stone. Small, attentive, unhurried work — and yards that look tended rather than merely cut.
