Lawns A Lot

About Lawns A Lot

Down in the Canadian River breaks the afternoon runs hot and rust-colored, wind shoving through the mesquite and lifting dust off the two-track roads. Lawns A Lot takes on Fritch yards in that weather — mowing, string trimming around posts and foundations, then blowing the drives and walks clear before the day is called. Up here grass grows in bursts between dry spells, and the trick is cutting at a height that lets it keep whatever moisture it has. A yard finished right at sundown, with the light going long and gold across Hutchinson County, is worth every bit of the sweat it cost.
