Trim and Proper

About Trim and Proper

A lawn is mostly judged at its edges — the line along the drive, the curve around the crape myrtle, the stop where grass meets brick. Trim and Proper is named for that and works to it: string trimming, edging, mowing, hedges and shrubs brought back into their outlines, walks blown clear at the end. In Frisco the growing season is generous and long, which means edges wander; left alone from April to June, Bermuda will creep four inches over a sidewalk and never mention it. Staying ahead of that creep is the entire discipline. Evening is the honest test — stand at the curb at seven o'clock and every line either holds or it doesn't.
