About Mawn Lowing

Somebody flipped two letters and got a name that makes people grin at the trailer in the driveway, and then the work has to do the rest. In spring the shoulders along FM 740 out of Forney fill with bluebonnets and paintbrush, and everything green in Kaufman County decides to grow at once. Mawn Lowing meets it head-on: cutting, edging along walks and beds, trimming fences and posts, blowing the drive back to clean. There is real pleasure in the moment the engine shuts off and a yard goes suddenly quiet and squared. The joke lives on the truck; the straight lines live in the grass.
