Elite Acres

About Elite Acres

South of Forney the lots get long and the houses step back from the road, and mowing out there is less a chore than a small expedition. Elite Acres works those acreages — an acre, three acres, five — where grass runs to the fence line and the fence line runs to a bois d'arc hedgerow planted long before the county roads. Mowing at that scale, trimming around posts and gates and culverts, edging the drive where it meets the blacktop, then blowing the whole apron clean. From the seat you can watch thunderheads forty miles off toward Dallas and judge almost exactly how much time is left. Finishing a big place ahead of the weather is its own quiet triumph.
