About 181 Materials

Highway 181 runs through Floresville like a spine, and in the first gray light the shoulders along it are still wet with dew. That is when the mowers go out, while the blacktop is cool and the peanut country beyond the fence lines is only beginning to take color. 181 Materials keeps Floresville yards cut, edged and cleared of clippings, the kind of work you notice as a straight line where grass meets curb. By the time the heat stacks up over Wilson County, the trailer is loaded and the next block is finished. Spring paints the roadside in bluebonnet; the lawns in town get their own kind of tidy.
