Lawn Star

About Lawn Star

Up on the Devil's Backbone the Hill Country falls away in both directions, and the little community of Fischer sits in that hard, beautiful limestone country between the ridge and Canyon Lake. Lawn Star works yards where caliche is close under the grass and live oak shade makes every property its own puzzle — mowing, trimming out around cedar and rock outcrops, edging what pavement there is, and clearing the leaf litter and brush that a Hill Country lot produces year-round. Nothing here is a rectangle, so the trimmer does as much work as the mower. On a clear night the sky over Fischer goes thick with stars, which is a fine thing to drive home under after a long day. A tidy yard against that landscape looks like it belongs.
