Some yards in East Mountain are mostly grass; others carry beds of azaleas, hollies and crepe myrtles, and those want a gardener's hand as well as a mower. J&E LawnCare and Landscaping does both, cutting and edging the lawn and keeping beds and borders sharp, with fresh mulch around the shrubs and a clean line where garden meets turf. June evenings are the time to see it: crepe myrtles opening pink and white, fireflies rising out of the lawn, the air still warm from the day. Pine straw, red clay and plenty of rain make this generous country for anything green. A landscape tended well here looks less like it was planned than like it grew that way on purpose.
