About Luis Lawn Services

There is a town on the High Plains called Earth, and the name suits a place where land runs flat to every horizon and the sky takes up most of the view. Cotton fields and the slow-turning arms of center-pivot irrigation surround it, and on a bad spring afternoon the wind can carry a good share of Lamb County's topsoil past the window. Luis Lawn Services tends yards in Earth, where a patch of green is hard-won against wind, sun and sandy ground. The mowing is kept even, the sidewalk edge is pulled tight, and the blown-in grit gets swept from the walk. On a still summer evening, with the sunset unrolling for miles, a fresh-mown lawn here looks like exactly what it is: someone's care, laid down in the middle of a very big place.
