Johns Lawn Maintenance

About Johns Lawn Maintenance

By noon in July the palm shadows along the expressway frontage have pulled in tight and the heat sits on Donna like a hand. Johns Lawn Maintenance keeps moving through it, because Valley grass does not slow down in August, it doubles. The route runs week after week: the same yards, the same gates, the same short word at the fence line. Cut, trim, edge, blow the walks clean, and be gone before the afternoon thunderheads stack up out toward the Gulf. Come evening the lawns hold their stripes and the sidewalks are bare concrete, and that is exactly the point.
