MENDEZ LAWN mows to that, steadily, with edging along drives and walks, trimming at the fence line, and every clipping blown off the concrete before the truck moves on. Weeds come out, shrubs get shaped back, and thick turf is given the room it needs to hold until the first cool front pushes through. When the norther finally arrives in October and the humidity breaks, the yard is still green and still even. Getting a lawn through a Gulf summer intact is its own quiet accomplishment.
