About FR Tree Services

East of Austin the land lies down into the Colorado River bottoms, and Garfield lives there among pecans, hackberry and fields that turn green fast after rain. FR Tree Services works those bottomland yards and farm lanes — removing trees that have rotted at the base, thinning crowns so wind passes through instead of shoving, pruning limbs back off barn roofs and porch lines. Storms cross this stretch in a hurry, with a wall of dust out front, and the next morning is brush in the drive and a hackberry laid over the fence; carrying that away is half the work and all of the relief. What stays with a crew is how a place looks at quitting time — sawdust blown off the concrete, cuts sitting flush, the pecan standing straighter than it has in years. Garfield, Del Valle, Webberville and on toward Bastrop.
