Deer Park Lawnmower

About Deer Park Lawnmower

Saturday wakes up slow on the streets off East Boulevard until the first engine turns over and the whole block seems to remember what day it is. Deer Park Lawnmower is usually that first engine, working down a route of yards while the air is still bearable and the shade still reaches halfway across the lawn. Mowing, edging, trimming, hedge work and hauling off what the cut leaves behind — that is the list, and it gets finished in that order every stop. There is craft in it: cutting height set for the season, passes laid so the turf lies in even bands, the driveway swept back to bare concrete. By afternoon the mowers are cooling and a run of Deer Park yards sits trimmed, quiet and squared away for the week ahead.
