Yard Duty

About Yard Duty

Somebody has to mow it, and in a Dayton July that somebody is either you at seven in the morning or a truck that shows up whether anybody feels like it or not. Yard Duty is the second option — mowing, edging, trimming the back fence and the gate line, clearing the drive and the patio, latch closed on the way out. Beds get weeded and hedges get trimmed so the whole property reads as looked-after, not just the street side of it. Seasonal cleanups carry off the leaves and the limbs after the wind has had its say. Dayton, Liberty and Mont Belvieu: put it on the list and stop thinking about it.
