About Medrano's Landscaping Service

The wind gets up early in Dalhart. By seven it is already moving the elms in the old shelterbelts, and anybody who works a lawn out here learns to cut with it rather than against it. Medrano's Landscaping Service starts mornings exactly that way — mowing, trimming, edging, then pushing the cuttings toward the fence line instead of the porch, because on the high plains the air always gets a vote. Panhandle turf asks for patience: a slightly taller cut and a clean pass will hold color through a dry stretch that would ruin a lawn anywhere softer. Yard after yard the reward is the same — a straight green rectangle standing in a country of dust and distance.
