About Advanced Excavating

North of Dalhart the shortgrass of the Rita Blanca runs to the horizon without asking anyone's permission, and the section roads go straight for miles under a sky that takes up most of the world. Advanced Excavating mows and keeps up yards and lots in that country — high plains ground, nearly four thousand feet up, where wind is a daily fact and grass grows in a short, honest season. Cutting on schedule, trimming close around posts and propane tanks, bringing back a lot that got away from somebody during a wet stretch. Up here a kept yard is a small green square held on purpose against a great deal of open land, which is exactly why it is worth holding. When the work is done the place looks squared off, like the roads.
