Ern's handy man service

About Ern's handy man service

At noon on a winter weekday in Crowell, the sun rides low above the Foard County courthouse and the wheat fields past town show a stubborn green over the red dirt. Ern's handy man service is the sort of small-town outfit that keeps a yard from getting away from its owner, tending lawns for homes in Crowell. Out on the Rolling Plains the wind does as it pleases, piling leaves in corners and dusting every walk. The jobs are plain and useful: grass cut back, edges trimmed, the yard set straight so the house looks lived in and looked after. There is honest pride in leaving a place better than you found it, one Crowell lot after another.
