D&R Sprinkler

About D&R Sprinkler

Before sunrise along Sandy Lake Road there is a sound Coppell knows by heart: the tick and hiss of a zone coming on, a lawn drinking while the air is still cool. D&R Sprinkler lives in those hours — sprinkler systems set, checked and repaired, heads adjusted so the water lands on grass instead of sidewalk. On heavy clay and through a summer this long, watering right is most of the difference between a lawn that holds and one that gives up in July. The satisfaction is unglamorous and complete: even coverage, no dry corner, nothing running down the curb. Add the mowing and edging that keep a yard looking the way it is being fed, and the place nearly keeps itself.
