Emerald Yards

About Emerald Yards

By August a green lawn in Converse is not a given — it is something somebody went and got. Emerald Yards works that stretch of the calendar with a light hand: the blade raised so the St. Augustine can shade its own roots, the edges still cut true, the clippings left or hauled depending on what the turf needs that week. Mowing, edging, trimming, shrub work and cleanup, week after week through a Texas summer that does not quit until October. When the first cool front finally slides down and the mornings turn again, the yards that were tended through the heat are the ones that come back fastest. That is the whole idea behind the name.
