About Sergio's Lawn Service & Landscaping

By mid-morning the cicadas have taken over the loblollies out toward W.G. Jones State Forest, and the heat settles onto Conroe like a hand on the shoulder. Sergio's Lawn Service & Landscaping keeps moving through it — mowing, string trimming around posts and playsets, cutting beds back to a firm line, carrying off what the trimming leaves behind. There is pride in a bed that holds its shape and in shrubs kept so the house stands a little taller. Pine straw drifts into everything in this country, and someone has to rake it out. The reward comes at the end of the route: a yard whose every border reads sharp, waiting on the afternoon shade.
