M&J Lawn Care

About M&J Lawn Care

Out where I-20 runs east from Abilene, Clyde wakes up to wind. It crosses the mesquite flats before sunup, rattles the fences, and by the time the sun is properly over the Big Country the day has already been decided. M&J Lawn Care is out in it early, mowing Bermuda that has learned to make do with whatever rain Callahan County sees fit to send. Water is never a given here, so the cut is set to protect the roots and the edges are kept honest against the caliche and gravel. Late in the afternoon, with the walks blown clean and the shadows stretching east, a trimmed yard stands out against all that open brown country like a small, deliberate act.
