About Cruz Lawn Service & Landscaping

Summer afternoons build fast in Cloverleaf: the Gulf pushes its heat inland, the sky over Greens Bayou stacks up white and then gray, and by four o'clock the rain has come and gone again. Cruz Lawn Service & Landscaping works the hours on either side of that — the bright part of the morning, the washed-out cool of the evening — mowing, trimming and hauling off whatever the storm shook loose. Grass runs hard in this humidity, and staying ahead of it takes a route you can hold to and a day you can promise. There is a quiet pleasure in a yard that looks unhurried when getting it there was nothing of the kind. Come dusk the cicadas start up and the whole block smells like cut grass on wet asphalt.
