Hunt County's blackland prairie runs right under Celeste, a dark, heavy soil that once grew cotton in abundance and splits into deep cracks when a dry July sets in. American Irrigation works with that ground, keeping sprinkler and irrigation systems running so yards hold their color through a long North Texas summer. That means tracking down the broken head, the zone that sticks, the line soaking one corner while another bakes. A well-tuned system on prairie clay lets water sink in slow and even instead of sheeting off into the street. It is patient work done mostly out of sight, and it shows up above ground as grass that stays green from the curb to the back fence.
