In January the Bermuda along Indian Creek goes the color of wheat straw, and people assume nothing is happening — but that dormant season is when next summer's turf is decided. Eco Turf Point spends it on the unglamorous parts: aeration to open the soil, overseeding where the shade has thinned things out, pre-emergent laid down before the spring weeds ever germinate. When the green comes back in April it comes back thicker, and the mowing rotation starts on a lawn that already has something to give. Through the hot months it is weekly cutting, clean edges and feeding on schedule. Turf that looks effortless in July was worked on in February.
