Bug Out

About Bug Out

July storms come off the desert in the late afternoon, and for a few weeks Canutillo turns green in a way that surprises anyone who only passes through in May. Bug Out works that short window hard — mowing while the grass is running, trimming and edging, pulling the weeds the rain brought up, and clearing the yard of what the wind dropped in it. Everything grows at once here or not at all, so the schedule matters more than the effort. A yard kept up through those weeks goes into fall looking deliberate instead of overtaken. The rest of the year is steadier, and so is the routine.
