Just one Landstruction

About Just one Landstruction

Wind comes to Callisburg out of the north with little to stop it, rolling over Cooke County pasture and rattling the post oaks of the Cross Timbers. Long before anyone mowed a lawn here, travelers on the old Butterfield Overland Mail route passed close by, and the land still has that open, going-somewhere feel. Just one Landstruction takes that wide country down to the scale of a yard: grass cut even, ground worked into shape, the bounds of a lot made clear. Late summer is when the work shows most, when sandy soil wants to dry and crack and a tended lawn stays a cool patch of green. It is hands-on lawn care for a town that still sits close to the land.
