Mata's Lawn Care

About Mata's Lawn Care

Big Lake keeps its name like a promise — a wide pale basin west of town that holds sky most of the year and water only when the rain finally means it. Out here in Reagan County the wind works the flats all day, mesquite throws its thin scrap of shade, and caliche dust settles on anything that stands still long enough. Mata's Lawn Care cuts against that grain, mowing, edging and trimming until a yard reads green and deliberate against so much open country. The satisfaction is in the line: a straight edge along a caliche drive, walks swept clean, shrubs shaped back into order before the afternoon heat sets in. It is ordinary work that makes a whole street look looked-after, and in a town this far out, that shows from a long way off.
