About Smith Outdoor Services

Late in the day around Beach City the egrets lift off the marsh grass in ones and twos, and the light over Cedar Bayou goes the color of weak tea. Smith Outdoor Services does its finishing work in that stretch of evening, mowing the last yard of the route, shaping hedges back off the windows, and clearing away limbs and debris the bay wind knocked loose. Living this close to salt water means dealing with what the weather brings, so cleanup work is as much a part of the job here as the weekly cut. A Chambers County yard held in good order under those bent coastal oaks looks steady, and steady counts for a lot on this shore. The mower, the edger, the rake, the truck, and then the quiet of a place put back to rights.
