About Bartlett

Bartlett's main street is one long run of red brick, built wide for the cotton wagons that once crowded it at harvest, and the line between Bell and Williamson counties runs straight through town. Bartlett, a business that shares the town's own name, keeps lawns mowed and trimmed here on the flat Blackland Prairie, where the fields reach every horizon and evening light pours gold across the rows. In a place this unhurried, a fresh-cut yard shows plainly from the road, its tidy stripes telling a passerby that somebody is home and paying attention. It is honest, satisfying work for the porches and side yards of a town that never needed to be big to be proud.
