The yard dog

About The yard dog

Dusk over South Congress. The bats pour out from under the bridge, the heat finally lets go its grip, and back gates swing open so the dogs can have the yard again. The yard dog keeps those yards worth opening — mowing, trimming, edging, beds tidied, clippings and debris cleared out until there is nothing underfoot but grass. Short work, done right, on a regular loop through the neighborhood. A clean back yard at the end of a Texas day is a small thing to hand somebody, and it is a good one.
