About YardDoc

January in Hyde Park is cedar season and dormant Bermuda — lawns gone straw-gold, the sky a hard clean blue, most of the mowers quiet. YardDoc uses that stretch for the work the growing months keep hidden: leaves pulled out of fence corners, beds cleared, edges recut so the walks read straight again, the whole pile hauled off. It is unglamorous, and it is exactly what makes March look effortless. Then the first warm week rolls through, the St. Augustine under the porch oaks starts to color, and the regular mowing rounds pick up right where they left off. A yard that got attention in winter announces itself in spring, and nobody can quite say why.
